The story

Our El Salvodorian coffee is from the Coausoles co-operative, recognized for processing some of the best coffee in the country. The Coausoles co-op was created in the 70’s during the El Salvadorian land reforms. It is one of the few remaining in the Santa Ana region, despite the decimation of the country’s coffee industry in 2008/09, when the Rust epidemic destroyed 70% of the country's production. Good membership relationships, certification and strong leadership has enabled Coausoles to continue operating under these difficult circumstances. Coausoles strives to improve current conditions, as well as generate new opportunities for the agricultural sector supporting families and communities. They joined the Blue Harvest program in order to build producer resilience and gain market access.
